This report aims at providing sectorial overview of the Ports Sector of Gujarat that can lead to business opportunities for Dutch companies. As per Maritime Agenda 2020, Ministry of Shipping Projected traffic for 2019-20 in Indian ports is 1280.13MMT out of which 56500 MMT will be handled by ports of Gujarat.
It also states that capacity at Gujarat’s non-major ports would reach 864MMTPA by 2019-20 which is 52% of the total capacity enhancement at all non-major ports of India.
Key Growth drivers of the sector are positive regulatory environment, strategic location, industrial growth, and various initiatives like Special Economic Zones, Special investment Region, Dedicated Freight Corridor, and Industrial Corridor.
