NICCT to launch its India chapter in Mumbai, February 2016

On February 12th 2016, The Netherlands India Chambers of Commerce & Trade (NICCT) will open its doors in Mumbai. Since 2003, The Chamber of Commerce and Trade is already active in The Netherlands. To complement its multi-faceted member services, NICCT India will function as an extended arm with the objective to fulfill its member’s needs and support development of business ties between The Netherlands and India.

Chairman Vipin Moharir envisages NICCT to “become the unique focal point of support towards business expansion and industry growth, making NICCT a future oriented and self-sustaining bilateral chamber with professional front and back offices in both India and The Netherlands.”

Since 2014, both government and business ties between the countries have been intensified. The Dutch foreign direct investment into India ranks fifth in the world and trade missions with Queen Maxima, Prime Minister Rutte and ministers Ploumen and Dijksma took place. The increased requirement for collaboration resulted in 25 agreements between the two countries to intensify the economic relations.

Being the principal influencer for all its stakeholders, NICCT is poised to be at the forefront of these abundant opportunities while adding tangible value for its members with its new local corridor. NICCT India will facilitate networking events, business conferences, investor forums, business matchmaking, trade missions and value added support services for members.

NICCT has been active in promoting business relations between The Netherlands and India since the last decade and is governed by a strong and effective board, including representatives from large, medium and small companies. Current NICCT members are Dutch as well as Indian multinationals and SMEs in, for example from the banking, consulting, dredging, energy, ITC, logistics and many other sectors.
